About Kids' Cooperative Cambridge
The Kids' Cooperative of Cambridge is a 100% parent-run cooperative playgroup for children aged 18 months to 4 years old. It is a group of parents and caregivers who value and love children. We wish to create a stimulating and safe environment where children are free to play, explore, learn, and socialize with their peers and experience the supervision of another adult. The Cooperative provides parents and caregivers an informal forum for sharing ideas on parenting young children, time to interact with and meet other adults, as well as "kid free" personal time each week.
Children can stay at the Cooperative three mornings per week. On one of those three days, a parent from each family must take on the role of caregiver. Therefore, parents stay one day to work and have two drop-off mornings per week. There are fifteen member families.
Children must be at least 18 months old (as of September 1) and be able to walk and negotiate stairs in order to be left at Cooperative. The maximum age is four years as of September 1. The Board may, on a case-by-case basis, grant exceptions to these age limits to returning members.
The Cooperative has a bright open space for crafts, dress-up, kitchen play, a two-story loft, blocks, drawing, puzzles, reading, snack time, and circle time (with music, dance and other group activities). We have a full kitchen for preparing fresh, nutritious snacks. Additionally, we have toddler-friendly toilets and sink facilities convenient to our rooms.
Kids' Cooperative Cambridge is open from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, Monday through Friday, excluding holidays and snow days (according to the Cambridge Public Schools calendar and snow day announcements).
The Kids' Cooperative Cambridge is located in a permanent space at the Guild Church in Davis Square. See our Contact page for more details.
