Kids' Cooperative Cambridge
Who we are
The Kids' Cooperative of Cambridge is a 100% parent-run cooperative playgroup for children aged 18 months to 4 years old. The fifteen member families are a community seeking a healthy, structured exploration and play environment for their children while providing some child-free time for parents. A Coop day includes free imaginative play, music and stories, snack, art/craft time and gross motor time while the kids socialize with peers under the supervision of other adults. We are located in Davis Square and currently include families from Somerville, Arlington and Medford, as well as Cambridge.
How it works
Kids' Cooperative of Cambridge operates five days a week, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM with fifteen member families. Children of the member families can come to the Cooperative three mornings per week. On one of those three days, a parent from each family takes on the role of caregiver. Therefore, parents stay one day to work and have two drop-off mornings per week.
Additionally, each family also takes on an administrative role outside the daily running of the Cooperative. This system affords hands-on involvement in your child's activities and requires some time and effort, while keeping our costs lower than any other cooperative in Cambridge, Arlington or Somerville for children this age.
